Second Hard Disk - No Recognised File Structure

On one of my home network PCs, I have a second hard drive that I use for
storing data. For no apparent reason when I try to "look" at that disk via
"My Computer" I now get a message that the disk is not formatted. If I look
at it via Norton Utilities the message is that the disk has "no recognised
file structure". I've done nothing to cause the problme and all was well up
to now.
I'm running Windows XP on all PCs on the network.
It's not the end of the world if i lose that data, but I would like to
recover the files stored on that disk if possible.
Any suggestions?

the ntfs on it may
have crashed.

you can see if this
is the case with a
software that have
the ability to recover
the ntfs.

try out acronis disk
director and let it
scan that disk. if
it finds any data on it
then it is recoverable

It could be that the partion table has been corrupted, try TestDisk from
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk it enabled me to recover the data on
a corrupted drive the other day.
