second dvd drive

Can anyone help


computer system came with cdrw/dvdcombi drive
when connecting second dvdr/rw drive bios
recognises both drives but xp doesnt. Have tried varios
configs to no avail. Whichever dvd drive is installed to
master that is the one it sees and nothing else

Ensure that the jumpers at the rear of the drive are not set to CS (Cable
Select).

XP has no problems with multiple DVD drives providing they are configured
correctly.... and then assigned a drive letter.

To assign a drive letter..... right click on My Computer, select Manage. On
the following screen, click on Disk Management. They will appear on the
right hand side of the screen.

My husband's PC has a single CD burner, and two DVD ROM drives... one set
for Region One and one set for Region Two. (My PC has three hard drives and
a DVD burner).
