Where I can find a download-URL for "PowerQuest´s" program named
"Second Chance" -Version 2.x ?

Im not sure if you can get it now as symantec took over powerquest and
this app seems to have disappeared and is no longer supported.I have it
however as part of the setup disk that originally came with my 98
system.I guess you know that its a precursor to mes and xps system
restore (in my opinion its better and has more control).It works well and
i use it all the time.I can send it to you if something is
arranged...either uploading or a email.Its approx 4 and ahalf meg
zipped.The version i have is 2.0.1 and no license or serial is
required.If you havent used it before , and are using some type of system
cleaner that cleans all free or slack space then do a control alt delete
and exit cpctray (seconchance) otherwise it pops up that youve run out of
checkpoint space.

me. (But for the WWW only...)

I want to use the new version for my WIN 2000 Prof., ´cause the
version 1.x didn´t make its job for this windows-system.

Do you can send me this "Second Chance" 2.x? My mailbox is large
enough for this "parcel" and I use DSL too. Of course I have
read very exactly all your advices about sooner installations
and restly registrations. All of it are away with "TuneUp 2003"
and "Norton System Works 2004".

Perhaps I have nice programs for you. What do you need....?

Just sent the prog to your mail in a zip file.Im using it on 98se , so i
hope it will work on 2000.Apparently it works on windows nt so i guess
your ok.

Ive just noticed that the zip file ive sent contains secondchance un
zipped in its folder and the programme zipped (PQSC.zip).Its only that
file you need really and was only 2.5 megs (sorry :)).
Anyway if you just click the zip ive sent it will install ,then you can
just save the PQSC.zip file for future use and installations.

Hi Bassbag,

Have you tried this service? It works very well for those files that are too
large for typical email. Its called "YouSendIt". Of course it helps to have
a couple of trash email accounts to use if you don't want to use you real
email address. Once you get the link you can then post it here for others
who may want to get a copy. Just a thought!

unfortunately I didn't buy the specific magazines, but maybe someone
else did. Then you could obtain the german version of Second Chance.

Es handelt sich bei dieser Version jedoch um die erste Version,
also 1.x. Diese nutze ich bereits seit Jahren, sie wurde
lediglich vor einiger zeit als Freeware deklariert und
anscheinend auch dieser Zeitung als "Anlocker" zur Verfügung
gestellt.

Ich suche die Version 2.x, welche auch für WIN 2000 geeignet ist
(sein soll); dies ist bei Version 1.x leider nicht der Fall.

According to the "about"(after installation) its actually version 2.01
build 10 10/14/99.The readme txt is..SecondChance(TM) by PowerQuest(R)
Version 2.01
Im aware that secondchance progressed to version 2.07 , so maybe that
would be the version your after.

If anyone has a site that might host it , they ...and you...are quite
welcome to it .It appears that it only works on 95 or 98/se
though(rosemary has tried it on her 2000).Apparently version 2.07 worked
on ME too ,so possibly thats the version that works with nt too.

I don't know how to host anything, but Zo recommended a service thing to
you. I tried it once but messed it up somehow. Others here have gotten
it to work. I think you send the file to yourself or something and then
post a link to it. Thanks

I would like a copy as well. The site I recommended would be ideal for this
type of post. When you send it to an email address, you almost immediately
get the link that is being sent to the email address. You can then copy this
link and post it here with your reply. I've used it a couple of times
already and it works quite well. As I suggested, you may want to have a
couple of throw away email addresses or something similar so that you don't
use your real one. Really would appreciate it.
