I currently have an AV program, Norton 2004 installed. Is it safe to
install a second AV program, such as PC-illian, or would the two conflict
with each other? Thanks.

It is not recommended if you think use both on-access basis. If you
use the other only for on-demand scan then they do not conflict.

Panda Truscan should be a Av-software which is planned to be used
together with other AV-soft.

I have the avg6, free version happily co-existing with norton, as much as
anything can happily co-exist in a windows system
