Problem started while downloading windows service pack
and closed my computer down, when restarted the messege on
the screen reads
auto detecting sec masters not detected
auto detecting sec slaves not detected

then it closes it self down and restarts, then closes
itself down again, repeating this again and again.

Sounds like a hardware problem. At this point, the computer hasn't starting
accessing the data on the hard drive, so it's not XP related.

It could be a bios setting, it could be damage to the drives, it could be
damage to the motherboard, it could be a bad cable (but that's doubtful) or
it could be bad ram. Or even the processor, but I doubt that.

If you don't know how to troubleshoot those sorts of things, or don't have
the equipment and/or parts, you might want to take the computer somewhere
and get it diagnosed and/or repaired.
