im making a music database and i need some kind of popup
with a clear field where i can write either song name,
artist or number. the values that im searching for are in a
table. i belive that you need a macro for this. im not very
good at access nor english so i really want a simple answer.
thanks

i'm afraid it's not very simple for someone who is "not
very good at access".
because you will be searching any one of three different
table fields during any given search (SongName, Artist or
Number), you need an additional control on the popup form
(such as an option group) to select which field you want
to search. then you need VBA code or a macro to handle the
search based on your field selection.
if you haven't found your own solution yet, and still want
to make this work, i can make an example in Access97 or
higher and email it to you. to request the example, email
me at
ttaccess1_kill_all_spam at yahoo dot com
remove "kill all spam" and underscores from the address.
mention the Access newsgroup on the email subject line,
and state the version of Access you're using.

by the way, the english in your post is excellent, perfect
grammar and spelling except for 3 missing punctuation
marks.

tina :)
