Searching for old documents

I need to find a way when you are in Word 02 or 03 and
click file, open, then the tools drop down, search to make
it remember the last place you looked and not have to walk
the path which is quite long every time to this users
document directory on the server. The user does not
always remember the name of the document so he needs to
search the body for keywords. Is there a place in the
registry to set the path for searching in word?

Tools > Options - File Locations tab - Select Documents, click Modify, type the path to the user's document storage directory. Sorry, I'm not sure whether you'll need to map the server location to a network drive first.

HTH!
