i used to be able to search for a contact by using a part of his
telephone or mobile phone number thru advanced search on outlook 2003.

i've upgraded to outlook2007 and vista and i can no longer do it. it
returns a "No Matches Found" error.

I've checked the index and I am indexing the correct pst file and it
shows that indexing has been complete (0 records left to index)

pls help

I just tried that and it worked fine if I chose "Frequently Used Text
Fields" or "Phone number fields" for the area to search

That's what boggles me. It used to work fine and it should work fine
but it's not and i dont know what's wrong.

even searching the notes folder which are simple text files is not
working. to test i even search for a text to a note that is on top of
the list and i can see staring right at me. when i search it says no
results. mind boggling!

what am i doing wrong?

I know it should work but for some reason it aint working with mine. i
also see it searching thru Notes, even when i see the note on my face,
when i use the search facility it just cannot find it.

is there anything i did wrong?

Very odd... this is a real long shot but you might want to run ScanPST.EXE
on your PST file
