searching for an AVI screen recorder

I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this question, but any help
would be appreciated.
A few years ago, 1997 or 98 if I remember right, Microsoft website had a
downloadable avi screen capture recorder available. I can't find this
software anywhere now. If anyone has any ideas about where to find this
kind of software now, it would be a big help... thanks

Screen Recorder captures images of the desktop, a window
or a user specified region as an AVI file and BMP files.
Or 'HandyCam' can be used to capture screen.

Thanks, Jan..... just what I was looking for! This little recorder will do
the job just fine... I'm doing an instruction video for using the win2k
server backup utility. A new employee will be very glad you took the time to
