Searching contact list

I am using Outlook XP. I recently went from using a POP3 account only to
using both POP3 and and Exchange server account. The [Type a contact to
find] box is no longer working: I can type names that I know to be in my
contact list but it will not find them. How do I fix this?

Thank you

Are the address lists configured in Tools-> Address Book and in Address Book
Tools-> Options?

If so reset the Toolbar by renaming outcmd.dat to outcmd.old

(I changed my reply address; remove all CAPS and _underscores_ from the
address when mailing)

I have searched the C: including hidden and system files/folders and do not
find an outcmd.dat anywhere on the drive. I have also specifically checked
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook and do not see the file.
