Hello

I performed a search in Spybot and turned up an item
called "searchforit" which was hanging out in the
registry. After I removed it successfuly I checked out
SpywareBlaster and found one items had protection
desabled which I enabled. I proceeded to run Spybot again
and delete searchforit again and sure enough one item was
disabled in SpywreBlaster. Has anybody had this
experience and if so what can you tell me about it?
Thanks.

SpywareBlaster's entry as a blocked site for Searchforit, is
being detected as a false positive. For now I'm just
unchecking the item before I remove SpyBot detections. I
don't want to add it to the exclusion list because there
might be a real problem. Re-enable the SpywareBlaster
protection.

Jim, is it really a false positive?
PestPatrol reports this as "Trojan.Win32.StartPage.ey [Kaspersky]" Homepage
hijacker!! ??

SpywareBlaster shows that it is blocking that site, if you
remove it from the registry with SpyBot SpywareBlaster shows
one item not protected (blocked). I have sent a bug report
the SpyBot.

Spyware Blaster puts *.searchforit.com and *.searchforit.ws
in the IE / security/restricted sites list along with
several thousand other sites. You set the permissions to
high and that blocks those sites from working on your
system. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/

|LJM Master from another forum says:
Hi guys, please DO NOT fix, I repeat DO NOT fix SearchForIt, if u have
SpywareBlaster installed, enable ALL protection with that. SearchForit
is a small bug/false positive which Team Spybot kno about, and will
remove from detection...in the comin' update, so just stay calm,
untill this next update comes, u have a choice, u can either exclude
SearchForIt, from future searches (until the next update arrives), or
u can just let Search ForIt, show up, until the update comes....it's
ure choice, i'm personally, just leave everythin' how it is, anxiously
waitin' for the comin' update...

Well, I hope u understand, and have found the guidance above
helpful....
