Hi All,
I installed a new program on my computer (running XP). Right after, I
noticed that IE6 was broken. Search boxes like on Google and Yahoo don't
search. I can type, and hit return or click go, but nothing happens.
I decided to use system restore to go back from before the install, but
when it comes up, the window is blank!
I assume I hammered some scripting engine on my PC. Can someone tell
me what it might be? Hopefully, I can reinstall just that, and get back into
System Restore.

Thanks, Max

What new program, please?

Are you running WinXP SP2 and is the machine fully up-to-date at Windows
Update?

Here's more...

The machine is running IE6 on XP home with SP2.
It is up to date as of about a month ago.

The program that was installed was just an Access DB app. Its installer
called the following microsoft installer scripts...

msiexec /q /i OSP.MSI
mdac_typ.exe /q /C:"setup /QNT"
vbrun60sp6.exe /q
msiexec /q /i ACCESSRT.MSI

I think that first line installs some system files including IE stuff. I
don't know what though.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Max
