Frank Whitehead

I am new to Vista, have the x64 version Home Premium, and I was watching a
web video on Vista that show the Vista Search feature. my question is this,
the video showed and spoke of the search as being ON the start menu along
with My Computer et al, this is noit the case for me! how do I get the
Search onto my Start menu and by the way I am speaking the Major Search not
the quick searc that appears on the bottom of my Start Menu.
Thanks

Search link (present in the right-hand side of the Start menu) is removed
when you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1. Also, the Search context menu
item is removed.

There are other ways to launch search. For more information, read this

Another way Frank in case you haven't found it.
Right click on the Start Orb and you will see 'Search' listed there. Select
that and you will get similar to the quick search you mentioned, under that
you will see 'Advanced Search'.
Select 'Advanced Search' and you will get options. It's not too dissimilar,
just looks a little different. You will get used to it like I did. I had
similar concerns as you when I went over to Vista.
Good Luck
