Hello,
Perhaps I am doing something wrong and someone can correct me. With XP we
could search the contents of a document for specific word, but Vista search
doesn't happen :(
Can someone explain why? or how to search documents for specific words?

Hi, May.

What kind of document? (Word? WordPerfect? Notepad?) What extension does
it have? (.doc, .docx, .jpg, .txt?)

In Control Panel | Indexing Options, we can customize the search in some
ways, including to either "Index Properties Only" or "Index Properties and
File Contents". How do you have this set?

Having said that, I must confess that I haven't yet been able to find the
secret to search the contents of my Microsoft Office Publisher's .pub files.

Hi, May.

Good! I'm glad you resolved your problem. Now, for the benefit of others,
could you please tell us how? In a newsgroup, we all learn from each other.
