Search window

I cannot customize my search window. The button at the
top right of the window is enabled, but when I click on
it the customize window doesn't come up. It used to and
I don't know when it quit working. I am in XP Home
Edition and I have it set in the classic view, not the
search companion. I hope someone can help me!
