I've been frustrated with XP search for months now. Even when I show
advanced options, it will not allow me to "look in" sub directories.
"Look in" shows me C:\ and My Docs, but not subfolders like c:\program
files. What's the deal???

I have advanced funtions on and hidden files and all that, but still
no option to see further into the tree. Once when I turned on
advanced functions I saw a brows link at the bottom of the box, but
it's not there all the time.

I used to use find all the time, now I hate it.

Please help,
Barry

If you can, please send an e-mail directly to my address, I don't
monitor this group to often. (e-mail address removed)

Thank you very much

The search function looks in ALL files, folders, and subfolders automatically
so don't understand your frustration. Care to explain?

Well, first, you can type in a folder to search in if you want. But the
easiest thing to do is to open explorer, find the folder you want to search,
right click it and select "search". It will then search that folder (and all
sub folders).
