I looked at Skwyrul the other day, a program which is a cross betweeen an
outliner and a notes program. There is a simple time planner in it too.
You could try if it fits your demands.
From the program help:
"Ok, this replaces the task manager, and a product I produced called
Swyfty. It basically allows you to store a Start date, End date,
Priority, Assigned to and %Complete against each item in the tree. When
F6 is pressed or from the Tree | View Plan menu is selected, a Gantt
styled plan will be presented to you, with al the items that have dates
in the tree mapped onto the display.
Single clicking any one of these items will display summary information
about that task as a hint.
Right click on the display and a small popup menu will be displayed which
will allow you to switch between Year View and Month View, and switch the
