Search not working properly

My search function does not appear to be working properly. Sometimes it
returns some of the files; other times not all of them.

Is ther a command I can issue to rebuild the index for the entire drive or a
specific folder plus all sub folders? (assuming this is the problem)

Before you wear yourself out on XP's problematic search feature, try this...
