I went and erased my search function. Now it won't search my computer (or
detect/delete anything in recycle)... and to top it off.. I'm now having
trouble logging into certain programs.

Anytime I have to hit a key like the one at the bottom of the screen, it
goes blank. Though I can sign in to yahoo mail.. of course, I cannot delete
mail, because it makes me hit one of those keys. (am on computer at work)

In short, Problems:
1) Search function erased
2) Internet control goofed (possibly activex)

Thanks for your help.

Hi Booradley :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

To Restore default Search functions:

In order to restore you default Search functions, download and run the
program below. You will have to redo any customized features you may have
added afterward.
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG

also....

Download the fix - Reset Search:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/IEFIX.reg
This will restore your default Search functionality. However, if you had
any custom adjustments you have made will have to re-select them.

This will restore the Windows defaults for a whole lot of Search related
registry entries.

CAUTION: BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!

Close IE, copy the bold to Notepad, save as Search.reg (save as 'all files',
and doubleclick. Answer 'yes' when prompted to add the contents of
Search.reg to the Registry:

If none of the above resolves the problem, then you may need to do a repair.

You will need to uninstall any post IE6-SP1 Win2K SPs before you
uninstall/reinstall IE. You will also have to go to the Windows Update and
reinstall all the necessary updates after the reinstall.

If using a Windows version other than the above and need instructions,
please post back.

Hope this helps :-)
