I've been using XP for about six months, and for the past
month, I never know whether search will work or not.
This has nothing to do with what I'm searching for or
where. I can search for system files, files I created,
anything, and initially after start up it usually works
and after a few hours it just comes up saying no files
found. At that point I can tell it to look directly in
just one folder where a particular file is and it won't
see it. It won't see anything unless I reboot. Then it
will work a few times and then stop again.
I do have a lot of files in different folders that I am
searching by referencing a part of the file name, but it
would be sad if it didn't work anymore because it had to
look in 80 folders for files with "smith" in the title.
Why?
Has anyone else run into this, and if so, any fixes or
hints? I need this for my work, and it's wasting a lot
of my time. I definitely didn't upgrade to XP for this.
Thanks!
