The "searchindexer" function appears to be crashing my desktop running XP Pro
SP3. I open up task manager and can keep the computer running as long as I
cancel this process every time it starts, but if I leave this process running
my computer will hang and the processor stop running.
I have gone into msconfig and eliminated as many startup programs as
possible and still this persists. I have also gone into the administrative
tools/services/indexing service and disabled indexing service, but when I
boot up the searchindexer function persists.
I would appreciate any advice re how to deal with this as it is rendering my
computer inoperable.
