Search Function

Neil

I cannot get the windows XP search function to work. It
keeps telling me that there is a missing file and that I
may need to run setup. Does anyone know if this means run
the XP setup again or is there a shortcut.

Amy help would be gratefully received.

at least you are getting an error message. all I get is a
blank windows box.

if someone knows which file is corrupted so both of us
will know which one to extract (and where to) from the
installation cd or from the i386 folder it would be
greatly appreciated.

I read the article and tried to use the link provided to download a "fix" for the problem. Unfortunately, I've already installed the newest SP and the fix will not install because it is for systems without the SP. Thanks anyway!

Did you try Method 3 to reinstall the Search Companion files?
