Hi, With XP I we were available to search the computer for the drives
or even the whole computer . With Vista I am not sure how to view
this ? Reason as to why I am asking is whenever I uninstalled anything
afterward I would search for the prefetch files or whatever was left
from the uninstall. How do you search for these left over with
Vista ?

Thanks

Start here:

Windows Logo + F  will take you to Search Window.
Click on Advanced Search.

Thank you . Is there any way to find it by using the mouse ? Thanks

Good question.

I don't know of any faster way of getting to that Search Window than Windows
Logo +F...

....but if you go to any window/folder ling on your Menu (such as Document or
Computer) and type in your initial search in the upper right hand corner
you'll see that when the search is over if you scroll down to the bottom of
the search results you'll see the Advance Search option. Also Search Tool
will be on the toolbar.

And if you don't use Search option that much and forget about this then down
the road you can always fall back on Help and Support. Enter Search. Inside
one of those results (I think it's Finding a Folder) there will be a link to
click onto the Search Window that Windows Logo +F gets ya to. I had to do
this a couple times in the beginning.

If anyone out there has figured out how to create an icon short cut for the
Search Window that Windows Logo + F produces we'd like to see it.

Whew...

Hope that helps.
