I need to be able to use the find feature of my Outlook 2003 contacts folder
by searching part of a phone number, not a name. Can anyone help me learn how
to enable this function? Or is it possible?

Yes, Russ that did work but it is an awful lot of steps to go through. Is
there a short cut method as while using the advance search function I still
have to designate which field to look in. I would much rather just click on
the find button, type in part of my number and then hit enter to perform this
function. Do you know is it possible or am I asking too much?
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give!

Won't the Advanced Find dialog let you do this?

Simple queries can be done simply. Yours is not a simple query. Finding a
partial match for a phone number without telling Outlook where to look is
not possible to my knowledge.
