when I access the Search window and start typing something a letter a whole
word shows up that I didn't type similar to Word or Excel. Can I shut down
this feature? If so, how?

I'm inquiring once again b/c I mistyped my 1st msg. I meant to say: "when I
start typing in SEARCH FOR FILES AND FOLDERS NAMED section an entire word
comes up as well as any other that begins with that letter or first two
letters, etc. I only want to know how to shut that feature down on the search
window. Can that be done?

Change preferences, Turn AutoComplete Off.

Ack, sorry, thinking WinXP, try opening Internet Explorer and then Tools
Internet options, Content, Auto complete. Also r-click the taskbar, and
properties, Advanced and clear, to remove the old stuff.
