Using Windows XP Professional; when searching folders for specific content,
I am only able to search using one argument; however, I want to be able to
search for "A" and "B" but not "C". If I use one argument and search, and
use a second argument on the results, I simply get a new search with the one
new argument. I was able to do this with Microsoft Office 2000, but now
Windows XP Pro will not allow it - it says "the filters required to perform
this search cannot be installed. This search cannot be completed." And no
means to install those required filters.

How to search with multiple arguments in Windows XP?

Office 2000, Office XP and Windows XP are three separate products. I no
longer have Office XP installed (using Office 2003 now) so can not check to
see if there is a setting you can adjust. Suggest that you ask about using
search from within the Office programs in the Office newsgroups.

The search in Windows XP itself is less than stellar. I use a program
called Agent Ransack for my everyday file searches: www.agentransack.com
