I'll cut to the chase: I have Outlook 2003 and I have my mailbox and
1 .pst file in my "All Mail Folders" section each with many folders
and subfolders. I want to perform a search on the entire .pst file
(or whole folder structure in Outlook).
I have the search box open and put my search term into "Look for:"
field. The issue is that it only searches within that folder, not in
any sub folders. So if I want to search my 2008 and 2009 subfolders
in my Year folder, searching while "Year" folder is selected yields no
results while searching with the "2008" or "2009" subfolder selected
does yield results.
Therefore it seems like it is only looking for e-mails in the
immediate folder, not any subfolders.
Is there anyway to get around that? Or to tell Outlook to bring back
results from all of outlook including the mailbox and any .pst I have
linked up?
PostScript: The reason I have .pst files is because we have a very
small amount of space on our personal drives but lots of space on the
network drive. So I just have my .pst file out where more storage is
available.
