When I try to access my hotmail or msn windows updates, my system
automaticaly changes to www.windowws.cc/hp.htm?id=9, then to another search
page which is 296f8.ilxt.info/index.pnp?aid=20009. Also no matter how many
times I set my home page as msn.com, after surfing, and clicking home, it
goes back to this strange home page. Now I cant get any updates or my
hotmail, and cant figure out what this is or how to get rid of it. Has anyone
ever had this problem, how do I fix this.

You have been hijacked. Sorry I don't have the fix handy. Someone
should post the procedure to fix it. I use SpyBot and it has a feature to
defeat the hijackers.

you have spyware, use Ad Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy or both of them

Steve H. I had adaware and norton, downloaded xoftspy and scanned. Got rid
of a few more items, but still have same problem. In xoftspy, when I do an
Advanced BHO scan, it shows two items, "Feat2 Browser Hijacker" and MFPLAY
Browser Hijacker. I dont see any way of deleating these, any ideas.
