I have a site built in FrontPage, www.multimodefo.com. My client wants to
maximize his site on the search engines. Can you recommend a 3rd party
vendor who is good at assisting me in doing this? I already use SubmitIt,
but want something even more aggressive.
Thanks.

I've been using SEO on my website for years. If you don't understand the
various pieces of the pie that go into making a website really soar in the
rankings then I would suggest you use WebPosition Gold. This program will
quickly help you understand the basics, get your pages up, and get them
ranked. Very intuitive GUI that can get you up and going quickly. The
tutorials ARE a must read as the material covered is interesting and the
principles addressed are worth understanding before you charge out there to
design the next winning page. I would suggest you read the entire tutorial
first because if you screw this up you will not be able to get listed with
the major engines and that would be a real problem for your client. I think
it costs about $150 and they offer a no non-sense money-back guarantee. I
bought it in 2000 and still use it today. Daggone good piece of software.
Everything else is just background noise. If I were you I'd can the SubmitIt
software. It will lead to trouble.

Third party vendors that SUBMIT your site to search engines are frowned upon
by said search engines ... read the google guidelines.

http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/guidelines.html

"Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings,
etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of
Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition
GoldT that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google."

Your far better learning how to achive seo results by implementing the
correct procedures.
I recommend these free classes

Think like Google. If you were running Google, would you try to put
sites that were bombarding you with registrations high or low in the
listings? Don't use those register-for-you sites, do it yourself.

And realize that no matter how "right" you do things, if your client's
site is one of thousands of sites hawking the same services and hoping
to be "found" with the same search phrases, getting listed near the
top is a big challenge. On the other hand, if it is the only site
selling antique diaries in the state of Texas, someone searching with
"antique diaries Texas" might find it!

Conventional marketing techniques need to be used to spread awareness
of the site, and the site needs to be useful and easy to use for
visitors.

Good luck
