Search button in the folder explorer doesn't work

When I open folder-explorer to see the directory structure
of my disk, everything is fine. If I click on the search
button, nothing happends. I get back the directory
structure. The search funktion is not loaded. I think the
pointer to the search procedure is gone. I don't know
where I can find this function.

I happen to have the same issue. When I want to search
files within Windows Explorer, a blank Windows Explorer
window is displayed (no search criteria nor anything is
displayed).

Does anyone know what causes this behavior and how to
correct it?
