You've got a bug!! They install themselves in the
background when you you view certain Ads, and as you found
out, e-mail attachments. You can delete all of them, but
they come right back (Pesky little
Bastards, they are).
You need to download 'Spybot Search & Destroy'(FREE from
Tucows.com), install it, update the program, then run it.
It will seek out and destroy the "bug" that changes your
search pages. It also gives you the option to "innoculate"
your browser and also protect IE's control panel.
Also, do a virus scan. This bug can be caused by a Worm or
Trojan too (make sure you update the virus files first).
Next, find yourself a good firewall, Zonealarm PRO ($30
US) is the best choice. Run it all the time when you are
online. It will also scan incoming mail attachments.
Seems like a lot to go through to get rid of these bugs
and trackers, but once you've got these new programs
running, it won't happen again.
