Hi Jennie
Jan Thank you for your reply. Looked at Copernic but a bit wary when
I
found it was Cananda. Don't know where you are based but I am in UK-
will
this matter or make any difference.
No..not at all. It uses a number of the well used search engines such as
Yahoo, Google, AltaVista, Lycros, CompuServ, AOL, MSN and many more. You
can also customize the selection of search engines as you like by
creating a
combination of search engines that you prefer to use. And there is also
a
Favorites list of categories you can use or customize to your liking as
well.
I live in the eastern USA, and I do a ton of research in my own work and
in
helping in the newsgroups and forums, and it has been my only search
source
since being put on to it in this very newsgroup 4 years ago. I don't
like
the UI of Google, or Yahoo, nor the gobs of unrelated returns that you
get
with them and others on their own, and I have no problems searching all
the
sites I want. I can add or remove as suits my needs.
Hope this helps

Hi Jennie
There are several recent threads in this newsgroup that deal with this
problem. It appears that Search feature is no longer available, and
there
is no way to reset, reinstall or repair it. You will not be able to
get
it
back, therefore, you will need to find another Search program.
There are many available, and the one that I recommend, and use
myself,
is
Copernic Agent. It uses a combination of default search engines,
including
MSN, Google, AOL, Yahoo and several others, and you can add or remove
as
you
wish.

If you'd like to try it, you can download it here.
Download - Basic (Free)

(works with IE and Netscape)
Hope this helps.
