Search bar wont work

The search bar will not function and I seem to be unable
to find out why. The address bar works great, however but
I have kids who need the search bar. I tried the
reinstall in add/remove programs but it changed nothing.
And, what is meant by search in the address bar under
internet options?Much thanks, Steve

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
