search bar drop box

Hello, can anyone tell me how to turn off the search bar
drop box in windows xp?? when I enter a search in either
msn or yahoo there is a drop down box that displays
history of search characters. I am trying to turn this
function off...have searched everywhere in preferences
and can't find it out how to disable it. Can someone
help me?

Try, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, Internet Options,
Content, Autocomplete. You can select what you want or don't and clear its
content.
 
In IE: tools, options, content tab, autocomplete button, uncheck forms and
set the rest as you like.
