Search and replace problem

Notice that in the extract below there is no space after the ")". For
presentational purposes, I need to insert a space, but I am working with
large amounts of text, and I would like to use Search & Replace.

I can't see how to do this. I need to replace ")" followed by any
non-space character with ")", then a space, then the same non-space
character. Is there any way of doing that?

I use Word 2003 and 2000, both on XP.

(3)most medium-sized enterprises, with reservation.

Well, this question should really have been directed to a Word group and not
this one, which is for XP.

That said, I don't know how to specify "any non-space character" so what I'd
do is two steps: firstly, replace all instances of ")<space>" with ")", then
replace all ")" with ")<space>". I think that should achieve what you're
after.

I've learned a lesson on clarity here! I never thought for a minute that the
OP or anyone had or would put the inverted commas *in* the find/replace box,
especially given the context, but it just goes to show! I shall endeavour to
be more precise with my description of when to use a """ mark. :-)

It would be nice if Brian posted back to say whether or not this all helped
him, though...
