I have a large number of cells which contain text
separated by a space. For example: my cell might contain
January Sales
I'm formatting a table, and I want to change the space
between 'January' and 'Sales' into a carriage return, of
the type you would get if you hit ENTER while holding down
the ALT key (that is - a carriage return within a cell).
I could do this manually, but I have a huge number of
these changes, and I want to use the 'Find and Replace'
function in Excel.
Does anyone know if there is a combination of special
characters which I could type in the 'Replace' dialog box
that would replace the space with a carriage return?
I know that it is possible to do this in Word: for
instance if you replace selected text with ^p, it comes
out as a carriage return.
Thanks,
Daniel
