Search and replace an image

Is there a way to search and replace an image?

When I refer to several websites I include their corporate logo on the
slide. Not on all slides so not on the master. Not always at the same
location but usually the same size. When the logo changes it is a pain to
go through and update the slides.

Any suggestions welcome.

TIA
Chris

There's no search/replace capability for images, but if you link the image
rather than embed it, it might work.

When you insert, picture, from file, choose the picture you want to insert;
then instead of clicking the usual button to insert it, click the down-arrow to
the right of the button and choose Link.

If you substitute a different image but put it in the same folder, same
filename, the next time you open the presentation, PPT will use the new image.

There are some issues with this ... the link will be absolute; it points to
wherever the image is on YOUR computer and will break when you give the
presentation to someone else.

Our free FixLinks demo includes two solutions to this:

1) It can make the links path-free so they work just as long as you keep the
image in the same folder as the PPT itself

2) It can convert the image from linked to embedded. You could start with
linked images, then run this feature before handing off the presentation to a
client.

The demo is free; there's no timeout or anything.
