Search always comes up

ok. ..... I'm stumped on this one....fresh install of XP Home and all
updates including SP2..... if I double click on My Computer I can see all
the drives, folders etc. If I double click on a folder it brings up the XP
search engine...

very anoying when trying to copy songs , photos etc from the HD to a PSP
etc. Why would I have to serch the folder instead of seeing all contents
when I double click to open.... I'm stumped
