Hi!

I bought two 80 gb Seagate uata disks. I installed one and installed WinXP
Pro and other programs and everything worked fine... I then installed the
second drive as slave (it just should be used as a backup disk. When I boot
both drives are found in bios but only the first is then found by windows. I
tried and installed the second drive in my old computer, but it wont work
there either. In the new computer everything seems fine, no questionmarks in
Device manager, and as said it is found in bios.
Only thing is, it can't be found in explorer.
Anyone that has any ideas what to try?

Johan

Hi, you need to partition it using Disk Management in Computer Management.
Right click My computer and go to manage, then disk mangement. Right click
on the unallocated space on the second hard disk and click new logical
drive. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

Yes, it all works great. And they're so much faster. I have used two Maxtor
disks, two and four years old, both 7200. And now, as said, two Seagate
(also 7200). It used to take somewhere around 140 minutes to copy My
Documents from one disk to the other - it now takes 20 minutes!
It's amazing that there's such a difference!

Johan
