Seagate HDD failure

Its a 6 months old HDD 160 GB that started reporting errors. (One or more
sectors going bad). Have an RMA to send unit back and wanted to clean the
disk of data before a complete failure. Plan to erase data and reformat
disk, is there any software out there to "really" clean the disk?? TIA
 
You can download thier MS-DOS utility to a MS-DOS formatted floppy,boot to
floppy,run the burn in chks.You can/could also,boot to xp cd,recovery,press
enter for password,type:DiskPart In DiskPart delete the partition(s),maybe
create one,then press ESC key.Type:FORMAT C: /FS:NTFS
