Ok, it's a Seagate 80 GB (Barracuda)
from a Dell poweredge server - Win2K3 SBS
It's IDE and was mirrored to an identical Seagate 80GB
It was partitioned as (probably) 12GB C: and 60 Whatever D:
System went down booting started a chkdsk routine. Lots of errors and I
think, truncated files And it just restarts over and over
Pull the drive.
Slave it in another system (WinXP Pro, SP2)
D: (data) intact and copied off
C: reports as 1GB partition with 1GB free
However, all data look intact
If I select all files on the drive and do properties, it reports as 37,484
files using 5.47 GB
(The size is low - should be almost double)
Was able to copy data from the C: drive (Exchange DB)

And, I said it's mirrored
The mirror looks the same!

Any ideas on this one?

Bizarre....

Thanks,
JohnS

Try something like Easy Recovery Pro and see what it makes of it.

Likely the partition table entry for the first partition has got screwed values wise.
