What you've got here is bad juju. It is part of a Browser
Hijacker called about:blank. I have been trying for over
two weeks to clear this from a friends computer and am
making some very slow progress. It is insideous and has
the ability to revive itself from the ashes. Look at
using a combination of utilities to control it including
one called HijackThis (download from Major Geeks.com). It
will help identify Registry entries that are associated
with it. I would also download ad-aware. I have found
that Microsoft Antispyware identifies an entry in the
HK_Classes_root section of the Resistry as a Browser
Hijacker, but does not id the exact entry -- don't know
why and cannot find it on my own. But if you delete this
entry, then immediately about:blank changes settings in
two other parts of your registry
HKCU/software/microsoft/windows/internetexplorer/search
and in
HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/internetexplorer/search :se
arch assistant.
If I tell Msft AntiSW to ignore, then the change doesn't
take place and the About:Blank hijacker stays at bay...so
far. The way to delete the se.dll is to either boot to
the cmd promt or start in safe mode and use the system
explorer.
