Does anyone have any idea as to why my PC only sees a 256 Mb PC133
synchronous ram stick as 128Mb? It does this with 3 different sticks yet has
already got a similar sized one installed which it sees as 256Mb!
My motherboard accepts up to 512 Mb so that can't be the problem.

Check the manual for your MB. I know Asus has a board where one of the memory
slots can only have a single sided DIMM (chips on one side).

Have you made sure that the style of RAM you are using will work with
your motherboard? A lot of older computers worked fine with "low
density" RAM but could only see half of newer "high density" RAM. One
could place to find the proper memory for your computer is www.crucial.com
