I am in the process of trying to use http://www.schau.com/gz/howto/xpevmware/
tutorial to create a vmware xpe guest. I have followed the tutorial's
instructions
but when I attempt to the write to the SDI disk
I thought I had this figured out back (I have been away from XPe for
more than
a year)
I was told that:
Target Designer attempts to clear the contents of the folder
you build to before it starts building, so that it doesn't have to
worry
about overwriting files and having extra files present in the
destination
folder. When building to a root folder, TD will attempt to clear the
entire
contents of the volume, and this process will fail if System Restore
happens
to be monitoring the volume (System Restore will place a hidden folder
named
"System Volume Information" in the root of each drive it monitors).
So I turned off System monitoring on the SDI disk but I am still
getting the dreaded message from Target Designer:
Target Designer was unable to clear the contents of the destination
folder that you have specified.
Please check the permissions on these files.
thanks,
