SD Card not showing up on my computer

My sons computer has a slot in the side where you can plug in a memory card
from a camera. This device is not working at all. I cannot find the SD card
listed under My Computer nor can I find it under device manager. I have tried
rebooting as well as a search for new hardware but it is like it doesn't
exist. Any ideas?

You probably have not formatted it yet. Check the instructions for your
camera on how to format the card so it can be read with Windows.

Try a different card. Out of about 20 I have, a couple will read in some
computers but not others...for no reason I can find.
