Here's a fun little issue for you. I've recently been
getting an Svchost error telling me that certian memory
addresses cannot be written without any from of error
code. And after getting the error i lose all properties
pages and the ability to disconnect my network connection
as well as stopping the RPC service. Was wondering if
Anyone out there had any kind of a fix aside from a fresh
install. Problem began occuring shortly after installing
AT&T broadband support software but doesn't seem to
involve their software also installed quicktime. Any
advice would be much appritiated.
Thx

I think the fun is all on your side. Get a decent virus
scanner, and keep it up-to-date so that your machine
will be protected against viruses. And while you're at
it, install a firewall too, e.g. www.ZoneLabs.com.

Mary, i could kiss you it was the Mblast worm but
apparently there is a variant that removes the definition
files from norton and mcaffee and the service it was
running under was not showing in the proccesses list and i
found the hole in my firewall apparently one of my
employees decided it was time i opened the specific ports
relative to anonymiser.com and kazaa needed to be opened
i've forced a password update and closed the ports and
when i open up tomorow someone is gonna have a very bad
day =)

thanx a ton i won't be shying away from the hotfix
page anymore

Chris
