Can any motherboard run a SCSI harddrive? I have a Biostar TForce 6100 AM2
with A64 3500+ CPU and would like to run a SCSI harddrive on it. Can it do
that out of the box or do i need anything else??

Some can. Most can't. If you start getting into MBs which cost four
figures then you might start assuming built-in SCSI capability.

Otherwise, you can always buy a relatively cheap SCSI controller,
preferably one which is common and hopefully natively supported by your
operating system.

Yes, so long as there's a SCSI controller built in or
plugged in (to one of the slots).

I have a Biostar TForce 6100 AM2

.... which doesn't have one built in, so you'll need a slot
and a SCSI card that fits the slot. PCI is more common, PCI
Express you'll have to seek on your own.

Ok. Why?
A decent SCSI controller would largely negate the cost
savings if you happened to have the SCSI drive already.
It'll be faster at some things if high RPM, but so would a
WD Raptor, which is natively supported by your board- no
expensive card needed.

You'll need a cable too, in addition to the PCI % card.

You would need a SCSI controller.

So for a fast harddrive (10000rpm) NOT scsi, is this what i should get? Need
no controller? Only a cable, right??

If your MB has an available SATA connector then your would need the 10K
RPM drive, a SATA cable, an available SATA power connector, and some
mounting screws. These drives are known to operate at higher
temperatures than "normal" drives so you should probably ensure that
your case provides adequate airflow around the proposed drive mounting
location if you want to prolong its life.
