Hi,

If our server's SCSI controller will fail can we still recover the data when
we get a new SCSI controller from another manufacturer?

If yes. How?

Thank you in advance.

Depends on what you mean by "recover the data". If you want
to be able to boot Windows off the new controller the answer is
almost certainly "no". Most drivers look for a specific vendor
and subvendor ID in the hardware, and if it doesn't find it the
driver will not load, therefore neither will Windows.

If all you want to do is _access_ the data on the original drive,
that shouldn't be a problem. Simply install Windows onto a
new drive, then connect the original and access it as a
secondary drive.

So you mean that if have a brand A and I would like to replace brand A
controller with brand B then I will have problem
when I restart Windows 2000 server?

Are there any solution to this?
