SCSI Terminator - where to find?

I need to get n SCSI terminator as soon as possible. The stores in my
area do not seem to carry them. My parents tried 7 stores while i was
at work today, and not a single store had them. A few had no idea what
they were talking about. I am really surprised. I even tried CompUSA
online (they tried in person), and the only model listed on the
website was $45. When I did a general search online, I found a website
with several between $7 and $25.

Does anybody know of a national chain stoe that would have them in
stock? I'd order from that website, but I was supposed to have my
photos already scanned by tonight. I really have to have it done no
later than Thursday night.

Also, there seem to be a bunch of different kinds. I just know i need
a terminator for my scanner. Does it need to be a specific kind, or
will any do?

The scanner is an Acer Scanwit 2720S.

Thank you very much.

What you need is 25pin external passive scsi terminator. here in EU they
sell for about 4-5 euros, but as you noticed they are hard to find. I am on
search as well. :-)

I'm pretty sure you don't need a terminator to use this scanner
(I've never used one with it).

FWIW: Most companies that supply Network aor Web servers
will probably have SCSI Terminators in stock, or know where
to get them.

You might try Adaptec ... they're probably "the leader" in
SCSI "stuff"
www.adaptec.com

Their 50 pin terminators are shown on
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/product/cableprodindex.html
?sess=no&language=English+US&prodkey=ACK-50-TERM&cat=/Techno

Another source would be Granite Digital ... but they are
"high-end, and expensive:

Terminators are shown on

One "retailer" that probably has them "in stock" is Fry's.
Their on-line store is outpost.com ...
http://www.outpost.com/

and a search of that site resulted in seven "hits" ...
varying in price from $9.99 to $39.99

Sorry if those URLs "wrap" ... you'll have to un-wrap them
manually.

Do you have any idea why my computer can't find it? I tried
downloading another driver off their website. Still the same error.

The scanner has power and is connected to the computer. I have
connected it via my old SCSI card as well as the card that came with
the scanner. Both are currently installed on my computer.

I have tried it with the old scanner plugged in to the out port, and
also with that port empty.

As far as I know, the only thing I haven't tried is the terminator,
but the only ones I can find would be mailorder, and I need the photos
scanned by Thursday night if I am going to make this project work.

Thank you very much.

This company has some that are reasonably priced depending on the
connector:

If you need one hopefully you can count the pins and find the right
fit.

If I remember correctly, with two scsi cards installed, each will have its
own logical unit number, LUN, assigned to it. One card will be #0 and the
other #1. If you're using an Adaptec card, you'll need to assign each
device to a specific LUN within the scsi select utility as well as assign it
a scsi ID.

Many scsi devices have an option to switch on termination. Check the manual
for the scanner and make sure that you've enabled its termination if
available. However, a quick search revealed an end user review which
mentioned that the scanner's manual states that it requires termination.

and I need the photos scanned by Thursday night if I am going to make
this project work.

If you can't get your scanner working in time, then you may be able to get
your photos scanned at a Kinko's or some other place.
