Hi

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2650 w/ a Scsi Raid controller PERC2 3/Di. One
of the HDDs has failed. This hard drive was a Scsi Ultra160.
Unfortunatelly, these hard drives are not available locally. I tried to
replace it w/ another hard disk (ultra320) but it didn't work. Will it
work if I replace all HDDs of the raid with Ultra320? or I still need
to change the controler ?

Thanks all,
Hussein Alsayiegh

What do you mean by "didn't work" ?

Hi

When I pluged in the Ultra320, it was still showing missing HDD from
the container(on the controller configuration screen). However, when I
have put another ultra160 HDD it immediatley showed the HDD in the raid
container.

Thanks

If you are absolutely certain that the Ultra320 is in good operating
condition...
my opinion is that the controller must not be able to handle a drive that
large.
